
Meet Melanie
Melanie Lown is a trusted mindfulness and meditation teacher, speaker, and facilitator whose work bridges science, spirituality, and lived experience. She has delivered impactful programming for businesses, educators, nonprofits, and spiritual communities, and has been featured on podcasts, mental health webinars, and meditation apps. Known for her intentional, engaging, and authentic approach, Melanie is praised for making complex ideas feel clear, accessible, and deeply relevant.
She holds an MA in Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University, where she contributed to Dr. Lisa Miller’s Spirituality and Psychology Lab. Before that, she served as Lab Manager in the Imagination and Cognition Lab at The University of Texas at Austin. Her career began with nearly a decade in public education—first as a classroom educator, then as a developer of fine arts and character development programs for schools across Texas.
A certified mindfulness meditation teacher, Melanie has trained at the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion and continues to deepen her practice through ongoing study with leading teachers and residential Vipassana retreats.
